Day 58- 19th July, 2012 Mostar- Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mivin came at 8.30 a.m. and informed me that a girl from Radio Station has come to interview me and she is standing at the Mostar Square. I had made morning tea and was sipping it when he came.  I had a good sleep. Both person of the room had gone.

I went with Mivin to a nearby square where Eliana from Radio Station had come. We sat in a nearby air conditioned Radio Station. Mivin called his cousin to do the interpretation as the girl did not know much of English and the broadcast was in local language. Mivin’s cousin came and we had 30 minutes interview. I think it went well. I talked about Peace and International Understanding, Hostelling, Bosnia and its nice people etc. Eliana was happy with the interview. After that I came back to the hostel.

When everybody has gone, I took shower and then had breakfast.  I went to the main hostel and used the internet. Later Maya gave me a brochure of old town hostel, Kotar in Montenegro where I will be going tomorrow. I came to know about Kotar only yesterday from hosteller who had been there.  It is in Montenegro. At 2 p.m. I went to the market and found a good restaurant to eat Bosnian dish of Chirico (meat of three kinds is mixed and  then make finger type and  fried). These are fried meat fingers with Pita bread. They were tasty. The restaurant was air conditioned. Outside is still hot and I came back to the hostel. I wrote two pages and internet stopped working. Then I took an hour’s rest. I phoned old town hostel and they asked me to come tomorrow and will find a bed for me. I did nothing till evening when I went to Bus stand to find out the bus for Montenegro. After having a round, I found only one area opened. The woman at the counter told me that the bus is one only at 7 a.m. going straight to Kotar which is a sea coast. It will cost 57 KM and I could buy ticket now or in the morning.  Their counter gets open at 6.30 a.m. I wanted to check on the visa requirement before buying the ticket.  I was told by Vikas that visa will be given by Montenegro at the border if Schengen visa is there. I came back and then checked at the laptop of the lady where I am staying.  It is correct with Schengen visa I can stay for 7 days. Otherwise I was thinking of going to Serbia and then go from there. Belgrade is quite far from here. I will either go to Albania or Serbia from there.
Mivin was not feeling well when he came from the tour. He and his pregnant wife are very hard working.  Two of them are running the hostel like hard workers. Mivin takes a tour every day. Mivin was going to hospital and I accompanied him. Doctor told him to take tea and he will be alright. I bought calcium tablets for him. He is feeling much better now. I went to the market by a different route. I found Bristal Hotel and a Goa Shop in front of it. The shop was closed but the next shop keeper told me that it is run by an Indian.

I sat on a chair like hundreds of others sitting in open and drinking coffee, cola etc.  I asked for a Beer and sat for an hour. Before that I bought patties for tomorrow. Mivin is much better with my medicine which he acknowledged. There were some young boys and girls sitting and chatting. They offered me watermelon. It was nice. I also talked to them on hostelling. At the end, they wanted to take my picture with them. Everyone enjoyed the time.

I came back to my room. Two beds are vacant and so I am alone in this comfortable room. Only some cats are fighting outside. I have to get up in the morning and leave at 8.15 a.m. It is barely a 5 minute’s walk.  I should go to sleep and midnight.
